Bruxism is an increasingly present problem in our lives. It is estimated that around 70% of patients have some form of bruxism.
Bruxism can affect both our teeth, temporomandibular joints, and facial muscles, causing pain, limited opening, and structural damage to teeth.
The treatment of bruxism requires the use of mouthguard and physiotherapy, mainly. The function of the mouthguard is to ensure the avoidance of the chewing habit and physical protection of teeth.
In our practice, mouthguards are made from digital design, which makes them much more comfortable, lighter, and thinner. This digital technology greatly improves the effectiveness of the splints, saving us many visits.
Intraoral scanners are those systems that allow us to scan the mouth of our patients, to immediately obtain a 3D model with which to design and work.
The use of digital technology makes our Invisalign® invisible diagnostics, laboratory work and orthodontic treatments much more accurate and faster, also saving us from the famous and old traditional impressions.
Among the scanners available in the market, our centre has one of the most advanced: the iTero Element 2. This scanner, manufactured by Align Technology ®, is especially useful to be able to develop invisible orthodontic treatments in a much more agile and precise way.
From the digital models of the patients we can also obtain the splints for guided surgery. Combined with our 3D Digital TAC, these splints allow us to place computer-guided dental implants, greatly reducing Cme and providing extraordinary precision.
It also allows us to make any prosthesis completely digitally and is an extraordinary tool for diagnosis.
RAYPLICKER (COLOR DETECTOR)
It is a very useful instrument that allows the colour of a natural tooth to be replicated in any other manufactured part.
From a polarized image, the RayPlicker detects colour, transparency, opacity … in general all those nuances of our teeth. This information allows us to provide a natural and alive aspect to our dental prosthetics, crowns, and restorations.
